# 1: Raindrop camouflage

The raindrop pattern camouflage is associated with the Cold War period and especially with Warsaw Treaty armies. Raindrop camo is one of the most recognizable and yet lesser known camoflauges in history. Our design team picked up on it and it fits well with the Utility trend that had captured the design team's imagination.

# 2: Madras Checks

With roots right back to 13th Century India and the current renaissance for all things Preppy, Madras check has become a recurring feature of Lyle & Scott spring summer collections. The story goes that the check designs were inspired by the tartan plaids of the Scottish regiments that occupied southern India in the 1800s.

# 3: Colour Blocking

Colour blocking is a great way to get a bit of colour into your spring wardrobe. Choose a bright seasonal hue and repeat it throughout your outfit in bold block sections. If you don't want to go too brassy, pick a more neutral tone which will complement your brighter colour. Navy or grey work well.

# 4: Nautical

The Nautical look can be split firmly into two camps. On the one hand you have the yacht club, Riviera look and on the other end of the spectrum there is the rugged, maritime fisherman aesthetic. During the winter months a fisherman rib chunky knit and waxed parka works very well for an industrious and rugged look, however, with the arrival of the sunshine and some milder weather it seems fitting to embrace the more refined and preppy boating look.

The Evolution of the chino

Chinos have seen a huge surge in popularity over the last few years, however their story began further back than we might have thought. Before the Preps of the 60s and Mods of the 1950s. Instead try the early 1800s!
